Bio:
Tapio Wirkkala (1915–1985) was one of Finland’s most significant designers, working across glass, porcelain, metal, wood and graphic design. He began a long-standing collaboration with Rosenthal in the 1950s and created a number of distinctive porcelain designs for the company. His work was characterised by functionalism, sculptural qualities and inspiration from the organic forms of nature.
